8 BUSES FILLED WITH 320 VERMONTERS TRAVELED TO NEW YORK TO SPEAK OUT!
Bus Caravan exceeds expectations! Riders express health concerns about
IP Ticonderoga's UNSAFE Tire Burn
300 Vermonters attended the Nov. 15 Meeting in Middlebury and overwhelmingly spoke out against the IP Tire Burn.
Vermont Meeting on Tuesday, November 15 This meeting was attended by hundreds of Vermonters who spoke out against the Tire Burn by International Paper.
IN THE PHOTOS: It was a soggy, wet and miserable night when the eight buses from Middlebury set out for the Ticonderoga, NY hearing to speak out against IP burning tires without an ESP. The bad weather did not keep over 300 people from making the bus trip on eight school buses. We were joined by Governor Douglas in our efforts to stop a dangerous test burn of 72 tons of tires a day in a plant that lacks the pollution controls to do the burn safely.
